Sunday 27th May 2012 - Frantic Maths Studying and Barbeque
Today was probably the most hardcore studying day I have ever done in a long time. The past week of exams contained only Spanish, RE and English literature, none of which I did much revision for. I should have done more for Spanish, though, after seeing how badly it went.
I have no time to do anything slightly interesting today, apart from like fifteen minutes where I got to read some newly downloaded Deadpool comics from the weekend Deadpool sale on the Marvel app.
Maths took up, like I said, my entire day. My Maths exam which I have tomorrow is on all pure maths topics, which I haven’t really studied that well. By the end of the day, I generally knew most of the topics, but my brain just wouldn’t take in any more information, so I just have to go into the exam tomorrow with a firm mindset and hope for the best.
We also had a barbeque today in the beautiful weather, with burgers, kebabs and ribs. I know some people complain about their food being burnt on a barbeque, but personally meat being made crispy on a barbeque is one of my favourite things about them.

Saturday 26th May 2012 - Sunny Obstacle Course Day
Just after noon, I was dropped down to my girlfriend’s cousins’ house to join the party for her little cousin’s Communion. I really enjoy how she invites me to her kind of family gatherings, because even though our relationship won’t last forever, sadly, I appreciate that she treats me like part of her family.
They hired the inflatable obstacle course, which they have done two times previously and both times I have attended, but I’m assuming they hired it more times before I started dating my girlfriend. The obstacle course was really fun, just like the other times, but from one point onward they started coating the slide of the obstacle course in water and then proceeded to slide down it. I wanted to go on it, but I had to wear such formal clothes so couldn’t go on it.
I watched Cloverfield for the second time tonight, with the first time being last night. One of the funny things I find about is that, even though I get car sick, I don’t understand how people could get motion sick off watching it.
Also, talking about films, I want The Amazing Spider-Man and The Dark Knight Rises to hurry the fuck up. I’m going to see Snow White and the Hunstman in about two weeks, which’ll be a good enough substitution for a while.

Friday 25th May 2012 - Another Horrible Spanish Exam
Today was another beautiful day in terms of weather, but it’s just typical that it comes around during exam time.
My only exam today was Spanish reading, so I went into school later than the normal, early morning time. I chilled in the sun with my friends for about ten minutes and then we headed into the exam. The exam, by the way… fuck, guess I can say goodbye to that A in need to get into A-Level. I’m so fucking pissed off with myself, too, but everyone was saying the exam was difficult. There was some weird question about a festival in Spain, and one of the questions asked what do the men of the village do at the top of the tower? Apparently the word ‘milk’ was mentioned, but my eyes didn’t detect ‘leche’ once in that paragraph. I ended up saying people poured beer off the tower, but other people said people threw goats off the tower, which I found funny.
In town I traded in WarioWare: Smooth Moves and Scribblenauts to CeX to get Iron Man 2, and also had some store credit left over, so along with Iron Man 2 I got Spider-Man 2, King Kong and Cloverfield. Not too bad a haul.

Thursday 24th May 2012 - English Poetry GCSE
I went into school at the usual time again this morning to get pretty much all of my poetry studying done before the exam.
After reading all of the poems however many times, I’ve once again realised how very crap they are. Some of them started to make even less sense to me than they normally did, which wasn’t good.
Thankfully, in the exam, one of the poems I know the best came up; The Charge of the Light Brigade. I had to compare how bravery was shown in it and one other poem, so I chose Bayonet Charge. I managed to get about three pages done, and about two and a half for the unseen poetry which was about children being affected by war.
CeX had Iron Man 2 in today, but it was £4 more than the store credit I have, so I’m hoping it’ll still be there tomorrow.

Wednesday 23rd May 2012 - RE GCSE
My RE GCSE was this morning, and if I’m to be completely honest I wasn’t worried about it in the slightest. I got an A* on my module last year, meaning I only need to get a relatively high mark on this exam to get an A* or A overall.
In the canteen in the morning I just looked over ordination and some Bible stories, just as a little bit of preparation. I had forgot to look over ordination last night, though, so this was kind of my first time looking at it.
The exam itself went okay; nothing really came up that I couldn’t answer apart from one question on prejudice that I may have answered wrongly, and there was a question about deacons, which I couldn’t remember the answer to. All of the opinion questions, though, I think I have in the metaphorical bag of success. One of them, though, I wrote the wrong way around, so I did a little arrow between the two paragraphs and wrote ‘Wrong way around’, so hopefully the exam people will be nice enough to let me off the hook with it.

Tuesday 22nd May 2012 - Thank God for Curley’s Wife
My exam today was the first of two English literature exams, and today was on An Inspector Calls and Of Mice and Men. The second literature exam is on Thursday which is on poetry and also unseen poetry. I know that’ll go so badly ‘cause I got a C on poetry in this year’s January exam.
As soon as I got into school this morning I headed straight to the canteen and thankfully some of my friends were there, so I sat with them. Quickly I began to crease the corners of numerous pages in both of my books which contained quotes that would be useful for different questions they could ask. Sadly, though, before the exam began we had to make sure none of the pages were dog-eared, so I had to unfold all of my creases.
When the exam began, I opened the booklet and the first thing I saw after flicking through all of the useless pages was the two questions for An Inspector Calls, only one of which you had to do, and it was your choice. The first choice was on the role of the Inspector in the play, so I went for that one. The second choice looked at stage directions and how they change and impact throughout the play, and I thought fuck that. Before I began writing, however, I flicked on ahead to see the questions on Of Mice and Men… and sighed with relief when I saw they were about Curley’s wife. She was the character I had chosen to study last night on a niggling feeling that she may turn up, so I was glad. The exam itself went okay; there were certain things I forgot to say about the Inspector, in fact a lot of things, but overall it went okay. Far better than yesterday’s awful Spanish, anyway.
After school I walked into town with my friend, and I checked CeX to see if today they had Iron Man 2… they didn’t. He got a sandwich from Subway and then we went and fiddled around with the iPads in HMV. Afterwards he went and got his bus, and I put £10 on my bank account which I used to pre-order Chronicle on DVD from Zavvi.
When I got home, I went with my parents to PC World to look for a new computer for my dad as the graphics card in his current one melted and badly damaged the motherboard. He’s going to take legal action against the website that sold him it because he’s had nothing but problems with it, and so many things they’ve done wrong. He ended up getting a brand new iMac, and damn is it cool.

Monday 21st May 2012 - Terrible Spanish Listening GCSE
Today went fucking horrible, that’s the only way I can put it. Shit, plain and simple.
I went into school at the normal time today and went to the study, which was taking place in the assembly hall, and studied for four freaking hours to learn a lot of Spanish vocabulary prior to my exam. At lunch I even managed to download issue one of Avengers vs X-Men, which is awesome as the action is really starting to heat up now between the two teams. Currently I am on the side of the Avengers; they wish for Hope Summers to be taken into confinement as the Phoenix Force, one of the most destructive powers ever, is heading for her. Cyclops, however, is too ignorant and stupidly wishes to let the Phoenix Force enter Hope and hopes that she will bring about the return of the mutants. Captain America went to Utopia to confront Cyclops about her, but he would not let him take Hope, so blasted Captain America with his eye beam, but thankfully it was deflected by Captain America’s shield. This led him to call out the Avengers, and then the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier appeared in the air, carrying the Avengers. Seems like the battle’s going to kick off next issue.
So, back to the Spanish listening exam. It went freaking horrible. I am not even kidding, I made up about nine tenths of it, simply for the reason that I could understand fuck all of it. I was really disappointed with myself and it left me in a bad mood for the rest of the day, and I need to get a really high mark in the reading exam on Friday now to at least scrape an A.
After school I walked down to CeX and got The Incredible Hulk, so now all I need is Iron Man 2 to complete my Marvel Studios film collection that leads up to Avengers Assemble. The guy in front of me in the queue was trying to trade some stuff in but failed so badly. He firstly tried to trade in a DS Lite, but the serial number on the back of it was missing so they couldn’t accept it. Then he tried to trade in a laptop, but he didn’t know the password to get into it for the people in CeX to check it’s specs and stuff. So, funnily enough, he walked out of the shop with the same stuff he walked in with.
My exam tomorrow is English literature and it is on Of Mice and Men and An Inspector Calls, both of which I cannot wait to see the end of after today. Unless I have to repeat, of course. Both of the books were trending on Twitter today showing how many other people are suffering the same cruel fate as me. Ah well, here’s hoping the questions they ask are ones I’ve at least mildly prepared for.

Sunday 20th May 2012 - Avengers vs X-Men Started
I was pretty proud of myself today, as I actually managed to sit down and do a good few hours of Maths revision. My exam board’s website provides you with past papers and their mark schemes, so I was able to do a paper and then check my answers afterwards. I got a really high mark, so I think my brain is starting to adjust and remember all the mechanics and statistics stuff again. Before my first Maths exam, however, I really need to look at pure maths as my mind just refuses to remember it all.
On my Marvel app today I downloaded the issue zero of Avengers vs X-Men, which basically looks at Scarlet Witch and Hope Summers and pretty much details how important they will be during the events of Avengers vs X-Men. I felt kind of sorry for Scarlet Witch, though, as Vision completely turned her away from the Avengers mansion. The first scene in the issue, however, had Scarlet Witch, Spider-Woman and Ms. Marvel beating the living shit into M.O.D.O.K., a character who I hate, and the artist really emphasised the asses of the women. I wasn’t really complaining, to be honest.

Saturday 19th May 2012 - Physics Revisions, Secret Invasion and Secret Wars
I felt pretty pleased with myself today; unlike yesterday, I actually sat down and did a good bit of revision. Even though my Physics exams aren’t until a few weeks, I managed to look through some of my past papers and topic booklets for the subject. I think my main problem with Physics at this year’s January exam was that I didn’t know any of the formulae so I kind of screwed myself over, but I’m determined to learn them all for the GCSEs. In fairness now, after my little revision period today, I’ve learnt quite a few.
My Marvel app got two more additions today, but they were free so there’s no need to get all rowdy about me spending more money. The two issues I got are the first issues for Secret Invasion and Secret Wars. Secret Invasion involves the shape-shifting Skrull race invading all of the major Marvel groups, including the Avengers, Fantastic Four and, I think, even the Thunderbolts. Secret Wars has a large number of Marvel heroes and villains transferred to some desolate star and I think will have them fight. The heroes are Wasp, She-Hulk, Captain Marvel (who is now known as Pulsar), Captain America, Thor, Hawkeye, Iron Man, Professor X, Storm, Nightcrawler, Rogue, Cyclops, Wolverine, Colossus, Lockheed, Hulk, Spider-Man, Mister Fantastic, Human Torch and Thing. Invisible Woman was left out, though, and for some reason Magneto was brought to the star/planet thing on the same ship as the heroes. The villains brought are Enchantress, Ultron, Absorbing Man, Wrecker, the Wrecking Crew, Kang the Conqueror, Galctus, Lizard, Molecule Man, Doctor Octopus and Doctor Doom. Should be awesome.

Friday 18th May 2012 - Many Marvel Comics
I did something today. I’m not sure if it was good or bad. I was chilling in bed at like three o’clock in the morning… and I went ahead and downloaded the remaining five issues of Fear Itself on my Marvel app. I will definitely pay my mum back some time in the near future, but the guilt killed me for the rest of the day.
Even though I did a little bit of Maths revision today, it wasn’t as much as I hoped to get done. I really and truly wish I just had the motivation to actually sit down and study. Maths, Chemistry and Physics are the subjects I am worrying most about, and in fairness the first time I have one of them is not for just over a week. My upcoming week of exams is just Spanish, English and RE, which should be okay unless the Spanish exams turn out to be the annoying ones, and perhaps I may forget all my English stuff.
At the end of the day, also, Marvel had to come out and announce that they were having a Hulk sale on the app… so I may have downloaded an issue of Planet Hulk and World War Hulk. They’re very good.
